Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall lashed the Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha on Tuesday under the impact of Cyclone Arnab, disrupting normal life in both cities.
Dark clouds engulfed the sky, creating night-like conditions during the daytime. Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall continued to affect both cities, causing inconvenience to residents.
The sudden spell of intense rainfall in the morning hours brought normal activities to a standstill in several areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Meanwhile, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has intensified precautionary measures to minimise possible damage from the cyclone.
Large hoardings have been removed from various locations across Cuttack city to prevent accidents during strong winds. Similarly, tall decorative gates and structures erected for Durga Puja celebrations have also been dismantled as a safety measure.
