A self-help group from Angul district in Odisha, named the Maa Kalijai SHG, just shipped 7.5 quintals of Amrapali mangoes to London. This milestone highlights the rising success of farmer collectives in international agricultural exports.
This export deal happened because of the support of the Directorate of Horticulture, under Odisha’s Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, stepped up to support it. The whole effort falls under the Promotion and Stabilization of Farmer Producer Organisations (PSFPO) project. Palladium—a key implementation partner, handled the marketing, logistics, and coordination. Mission Shakti and the Odisha Livelihoods Mission also played a major role in building up the SHG’s skills and overall capacity.

As the implementation partner, Palladium manages and supports the export ecosystem through several grass-roots initiatives. These include conducting awareness and sensitization workshops, managing field-level demonstrations, and organizing exporter meets. The firm is also directly responsible for facilitating procurement, coordinating with individual farmers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and providing continuous hand-holding support.
This shipment is just one example of Odisha’s strong year for agriculture. Since the start of 2026, the state has exported 90 tonnes of mangoes in total. The Directorate of Horticulture, the PSFPO project, and Palladium continue to anchor this momentum and help farmer groups in Odisha push their products into the global market.
