Ratan Tata’s will revealed: Leaves shares to beloved dog Tito, friend Shantanu, siblings, and loyal butler

Industrialist-philanthropist Ratan Tata who recently passed away, has left his assets over ₹10,000 crore to his dog Tito, friend Shantanu and even his cook. Before leaving, he proved how kind and generous person he was. He also has left a portion of his wealth for his brother Jimmy Tata, step-sisters Shirin, and Dinoo Jeejeebhoy.

Apart from that, a portion of his wealth has been allocated to his loyal friend Shantanu Naidu including his pet German Shepherd dog Tito and cook Rajan Shaw, and butler Subbiah in his will. The majority of his assets have been willed to his own foundation named, The Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF).

According to reports, Ratan Tata made provisions for “unlimited care” for his pet dog Tito. Tata loved his pet unconditionally. He had even skipped a ceremony where he was to be awarded by Prince Charles for his lifelong philanthropy in 2018 because his two pet dog was unwell. As per his wish, Tito will be taken care of by his cook Rajan Shaw.

In his will, Ratan Tata had also invested in his executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu. The 31-year-old Shantanu was his closest aide. He often used to spend his time with the business giant. Tata forgave a debt that Naidu owed for studying abroad.

Tata had always been extremely kind and loving to those who worked with him. He treated them as his own family. He used to buy designer clothes for both his cook, Rajan, and butler, Subbiah. He also used to take them with him when he used to travel abroad.

Tata took his last breath at Mumbai’s Breach-Candy Hospital in 9 October 2024. He was 86 years old.
