Bhubaneswar has quickly become the epicenter of a major premium liquor push, with two brands in the alcobev industry making high-profile entries into the market at a similar time. Associated Alcohols & Breweries Limited (AABL) and ABD Maestro Private Limited have both just launched their premium and luxury spirits here, each making a statement with their timing. This double rollout fits right in with what’s happening across Odisha’s big cities—places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, and Sambalpur—where people have more spending power and are looking for top-shelf labels. What’s really driving this wave is Odisha’s new three-year excise policy, which gives alcohol companies a stable, clear regulatory environment.

For AABL, this marks its official entry into Odisha, making it the 13th state in their national network. As the flagship alcobev company under the Associated Kedia Group, AABL has jumped in with a strategy built on strong partnerships with local promoters, distributors, and retailers. They’re rolling things out in phases, aiming to keep their supply chain tight and efficient. Their brands: Nicobar Gin, Hillfort Whisky, Titanium Vodka, Central Province Whisky, plus an array of flavored versions—all now available at 1,109 retail shops and select hotels, restaurants, and cafés (HoReCa). Tushar Bhandari, Whole Time Director at AABL, points out that Odisha’s drinking trends are already way ahead of the national curve, making this move a huge milestone for the company’s long-term ambition.

At the same time, ABD Maestro Private Limited, the super-premium and luxury arm of Allied Blenders & Distillers Limited, rolled out its own launch in Bhubaneswar. With actor and entrepreneur Ranveer Singh co-founding the venture and leading creative direction, ABD Maestro aims to offer luxury spirits shaped for modern India. They’re coming in strong with four standout brands: AODH, a triple-distilled Irish whiskey; WOODBURNS, a contemporary Indian malt whisky with awards to its name; YELLO, a bold “Designer Whisky” blending Scotch and Indian malts; and RANGEELA, a lively, expressive Indian vodka. Managing Director Bikram Basu is bullish about their prospects here, especially given Odisha’s tradition of celebrating fine craftsmanship—from Pipli applique to silver filigree and Ikat. He believes Odisha consumers have a deep appreciation for the kinds of unique, world-class experiences these spirits can add to everyday occasions.
