Aerospace propulsion startup DheyaTech has raised ₹43 Cr (around $5.1 Mn) in a funding round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing.

The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to scale production, establish an integrated testing facility for its gas turbine engines, and work with domestic and global OEMs to accelerate commercial deployments. 

DheyaTech is targeting flight trials of its engines in Q4 2026. The startup said it has already secured orders from Indian and global OEMs, without disclosing their names or the value of the contracts.

Founded in 2018 by aerospace engineers Gurushankara KC, Abhinav Alva, and Chetan Kumar, DheyaTech develops indigenous small gas turbine engines for advanced aerial platforms and energy systems.

Its engine portfolio spans thrust capacities ranging from 20 kgf to 400 kgf. The startup said the engines are now entering the commercial deployment stage after years of research and development.

DheyaTech claims to have built the entire product development pipeline in-house, covering engine design, development, assembly, and testing. It has also developed a proprietary adaptive engine control unit (ECU), which manages and adjusts an engine’s operation.

The startup claimed that it is the first Indian private company to pursue independent airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines under the guidance of the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), a DRDO laboratory.
