Heartwarming scenes as iconic Bristol hotel offers free Christmas lunch to the homeless

People facing or at risk from homelessness were given a free Christmas lunch at the Delta Hotel by Marriott on Lower Castle Street on December 18.

The event, in partnership with the Bristol Homelessness Forum, also offered free haircuts to people sleeping rough thanks to barbers from Krays Barbershop and Winterbourne Cuts.

Thousands of people in Bristol are spending Christmas without a home, with the city recording the highest rate of homelessness in the South West.

Charity Shelter’s comprehensive analysis of official figures reveals that 4,390 people in the city are experiencing homelessness, equating to one in every 113 residents.
