A look back at what happened to the historic pubs of Fishponds

Some of the pubs remain, others have been turned into housing and some remain abandoned

The pub is a traditional staple of any major street in Bristol. The idea of a place to socialise and drink with your friends has appealed to many over hundreds, if not, thousands of years.

Whilst pubs are still in demand, the original pubs which were built have mostly disappeared. Often, old pubs are being turned into a new housing developments or converted into a youth space.

In Fishponds, there are a number of pubs with ties to the Victorian era and even further back in time. Some of these pubs remain along Fishponds Road and Lodge Causeway, whilst others no longer exist entirely.
