New 125cc And 175cc hp-e Engines

The SXR GT 175 uses a 174.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 9.76 kW, or approximately 13.09 bhp, at 7,200 rpm. Peak torque stands at 14.14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The smaller SXR GT 125 is powered by a 124.45cc engine developing 7.8 kW, or approximately 10.46 bhp, at 7,400 rpm, along with 10.4 Nm at 6,200 rpm.

Both engines feature a single overhead camshaft, three valves per cylinder and electronic fuel injection. Aprilia says the hp-e engines have been developed to improve acceleration and responsiveness for everyday riding and longer journeys. Both comply with BSVI OBD II Stage B requirements and are compatible with E20 fuel.

Larger 14-Inch Wheels

One of the significant changes is the move to 14-inch wheels, replacing the 12-inch setup offered on the earlier SXR 125 and SXR 160. The larger wheels also alter the scooters’ stance while retaining their familiar body shape.

Aprilia says the revised setup is intended to improve stability and comfort across different road surfaces. Its effect on ride quality and handling will become clearer through a road test.

Suspension comprises telescopic front forks and a rear hydraulic shock absorber with five-position adjustment. Both scooters use a 220 mm front disc and a 140 mm rear drum brake, with ABS reserved for the 175.
