New Ducati Hypermotard V2 Launch
The successor to discontinued Hypermotard 950 has just been launched in India in the form of Hypermotard V2. It features Ducati’s new 890cc V-Twin engine and it borrows a lot of electronics and rider aids from the bigger and more premium Panigale V4. Bookings have commenced and deliveries will start soon.
In terms of design, new Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP are unmistakably Hypermotards. Alongside the new 890cc V2 engine, Hypermotard V2 is now featuring a monocoque chassis too. While the 890cc V2 engine is shared with newer Ducatis, it outputs highest power in Hypermotard V2 – 120.4 bhp and 94 Nm.
With standard variant, we get fully adjustable 46mm KTB USD front forks and then preload and rebound adjustable rear mono-shock suspension setup. Suspension travel is 170 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear. As standard, we get 5-inch TFT cluster, a bi-directional quickshifter, riding modes and more.
Kerb weight of standard variant is 180 kg and it gets the upgrade from Pirelli Diablo Rosso III to Diablo Rosso IV. Braking is handled by Brembo M4.32 callipers, biting on twin front rotors. Upgrading to SP variant, we get more sophisticated Ohlins suspension front and rear and then tyres are stickier Diablo Rosso IV Corsa. Kerb weight is reduced by 3 kg, to 177 kg.
