Tata Punch EV Price Hike Sep 2026 – Costlier Up To Rs 20k

With prices increased in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, Tata Punch EV is now available in the price range of Rs 9.79 lakh to Rs 12.99 lakh

Tata has increased prices of Punch EV, one of the bestselling electric cars in the country. The facelift version of Punch EV was launched earlier this year in February, with prices starting at Rs 9.69 lakh. Punch EV is available in six variants and all of them have become costlier, as per the latest price hike. Primary rivals of Punch EV include XUV 3XO EV, Citroen eC3, MG Comet EV and Windsor EV.

Punch EV price hike – New price list

Tata offers the Punch EV with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery pack options. Variants with the 30 kWh battery pack include Smart and Smart+. Prices of these variants have been increased by Rs 10,000. The remaining are 40 kWh variants, which have become costlier by Rs 20,000. These variants include Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered +S. As is evident, only the Smart+ has both 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery pack options.

With the latest price hike, the base variant of Punch EV is available at Rs 9.79 lakh. Next is the Smart+ 30 kWh variant, which is now available at Rs 10.39 lakh. The 40 kWh variant of Smart+ is available at Rs 11.19 lakh. Punch EV Adventure 40 kWh variant now costs Rs 11.94 lakh. Empowered 40 kWh variant is available at Rs 12.69 lakh. The top-spec Empowered+ S variant has a price tag of Rs 12.99 lakh.

Punch EV is also available with BaaS option, where customers just need to pay Rs 6.49 lakh. Battery EMI under the BaaS program is Rs 2.6 per km. While prices have been increased, Punch EV remains one of the most accessible electric cars one can buy in India. With bestsellers like Punch EV, Tata continues to maintain its dominance in the mainstream EV segment. In August 2026, Tata sold 13,158 electric cars, commanding a market share of ~43%.

Punch EV – Specs, range, features

It is likely that the increase in prices of Punch EV is due to higher manufacturing costs. There are no changes to the EV. 30 kWh variants of Punch EV use a 65 kW (88 PS) electric motor, whereas the 40 kWh variants are equipped with a 95 kW (130 PS) electric motor. With the smaller battery pack, certified range is 365-375 km (MIDC Part 1 + Part 2). The 40 kWh variants have a higher range of 468 km.

As per Tata’s C75 range calculations, a more realistic real-world range is 260 – 275 km for the 30 kWh variants and around 335 – 355 km for the larger battery pack variants. Drive modes of City and Sport are common to both 30 kWh and 40 kWh variants. However, variants with the larger battery pack get an additional Eco drive mode.

Punch EV 40 kWh variants have faster acceleration, with 0 to 100 km/h achievable in 9 seconds. The smaller battery pack variants take 13.5 seconds. All variants have 4 levels of regenerative braking. With a 65 kW DC fast charger, both variants can achieve 20% to 80% charge in around 26 minutes. Punch EV also supports 3.3 kW AC and 7.2 kW AC charging.
