Defender 110 India Price Cut By Up To Rs 34 Lakh – Here’s Why
by Nabanita Singha Roy · RushLaneLocally assembled Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE variants get lower prices and additional standard equipment, with deliveries scheduled to begin on November 15.
The Land Rover Defender 110 has become more accessible in India following the commencement of local assembly at JLR’s Pune facility. Offered through the completely knocked down (CKD) route, the locally assembled X-Dynamic HSE range now starts at Rs 99 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.
Defender 110 – New Prices
The X-Dynamic HSE 2.0-litre turbo-petrol variant now costs Rs 99 lakh, compared to Rs 1.13 crore earlier. This represents a reduction of Rs 14 lakh, bringing its ex-showroom price below the Rs 1 crore mark. The larger 3.0-litre turbo-petrol and 3.0-litre diesel versions are both priced at Rs 1.18 crore. Each previously cost Rs 1.52 crore, translating to a reduction of Rs 34 lakh.
The engine choices comprise a 300hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 400hp 3.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 350hp 3.0-litre diesel. The price cuts amount to approximately 12.39% for the 2.0-litre version and 22.37% for the two 3.0-litre variants.
More Standard Equipment On 2.0L Petrol
The locally assembled 2.0-litre petrol version adds previously optional equipment claimed to be worth up to Rs 6.5 lakh. Its standard package includes adaptive off-road cruise control, air suspension with adaptive dynamics, three-zone climate control and an air purifier. A front centre console refrigerator and 14-way electrically adjustable front seats with heating, cooling and memory functions are also included.
Other additions include headlight washers, a spare wheel lock, a body-coloured spare wheel cover and manually operated third-row seats. These changes broaden the equipment package while lowering the entry price.
3.0L Variants Get Additional Features
The 3.0-litre petrol and diesel versions receive previously optional features claimed to be worth up to Rs 17 lakh as standard. Highlights include 20-inch wheels, illuminated metal treadplates and an electronic active differential with torque vectoring.
Cabin equipment includes four-way manually adjustable winged headrests, manual slide and recline functions for the second row, and heated third-row seats. A suede headliner, three-zone climate control with rear cooling, Meridian surround sound system and a head-up display further expand the standard feature list.
Local Assembly Expands JLR’s India Portfolio
Defender joins an existing local assembly portfolio that includes select versions of the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport. The move is significant because Defender was JLR India’s bestselling model in FY2026. Together, Defender, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport contributed more than 80% of the company’s Indian sales during that financial year.
With lower prices and a broader standard equipment package, the locally assembled Defender 110 strengthens JLR’s offering in the luxury SUV segment. Customer deliveries are scheduled to start on November 15.
