The Very Group has appointed as Beckie Crane-Stanion as its new marketing director.

At Very Group, which operates Very and Littlewoods, Crane-Stanion will manage teams across brand, marketing and its in-house creative agency HelloStudio.

Crane-Stanion joins with a “wealth of transformational experience” in brand and retail, across fashion, sport and beauty, the retailer says.

She joins from jewellery brand Abbott Lyon, where she was consultant global brand director, having previously worked agency-side, across UEFA, The FA and NFL.

Between 2020 and 2024, she served as CMO at Frasers Group, which owns Sports Direct, FLANNEL and House of Fraser. There she led marketing through the brand’s elevation strategy alongside CEO Michael Murray.

Very’s chief customer officer exits the business

Crane-Stanion says: “I’m incredibly excited to join the team at Very.”

“It’s such an iconic retailer with years of heritage and experience of supporting families.”

“There is no better time to have a focus on how we serve this customer as we evolve the Very brand for its next exciting phase,” she says.

In a post on LinkedIn, Crane-Stanion says she “will be using all [her] experience in evolving brands particularly retailers in this new position.” She also thanked the team at Very for making her feel so welcome.

Her role reports into Sam Wright, chief customer and commercial officer at The Very Group. Wright, who previously held the role of chief commercial officer, took on the expanded role earlier this year after previous chief customer officer Jessica Myers left the business in May.

Sam Wright, chief customer and commercial offer at The Very Group, says: “Beckie has joined the business at an exciting time as we go into the next iteration of our brand journey, aiming to increase reach and grow our brand even further.”
