The cost of a night out in Nottingham and how it compares to other cities

by · NottinghamshireLive

Not surprisingly the north of England dominates a list of the most affordable nights on the town. A recent study calculated the costs of a going out in major cities across the UK, taking into account four key components.

Researchers compared prices for a pint of local draught ale, a cocktail in a club, a meal at McDonald's and a five- mile taxi journey. While Hull came out top for the cheapest at £25.05, Nottingham ranked further down the list in 27th place.

With a pint for £4.50, a cocktail priced £10, a Maccy's meal at £8 and a taxi costing £9.95, it came to £32.25 for Nottingham revellers. East Midlands' neighbour Leicester fared better, in seventh spot, with drinks, fast food and a ride home costing £27.65.

Belfast and London were named the most expensive cities, with a hefty £47.95 price tag, in the study conducted by Vape Globe.

The five cheapest:

1. Kingston upon Hull: £25.05

2. Stoke-on-Trent: £25.50

3. Dundee: £25.95

4. Northampton: £26.05

5. Southend-on-Sea: £26.85

The most expensive

3. Manchester: £40.50

4. Cambridge £37.60

5. Edinburgh: £37.40
