Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford has shared insights into his life away from the screen, revealing that he continues to work as a roofer despite his TV fame. The Blackpool native, who features on the hit show with his sister Sophie, disclosed to The Sun that the £1,500 monthly earnings from Gogglebox aren't enough to quit his day job.

At a recent awards event, Pete was quoted saying: "We just saw Eammon Holmes."

He added, "I am just a builder from Blackpool, so it is a bit strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday."

When questioned about leaving his roofing career, he replied: "I have got to pay my mortgage somehow."

Pete seems content with his current television role, indicating no interest in pursuing further TV opportunities by stating: "No, nothing beats sitting on the sofa.", reports Lancs Live.

While Pete usually keeps his personal life private, fans were thrilled to see a snapshot of his wife, Paige, last April. Sophie posted an Instagram photo of the couple at a wedding where Paige dazzled in a plum silk midi dress, complemented by gold heels and a clutch, her hair elegantly styled as she clutched a glass of Champagne, according to the Mirror.

Izzi and Ellie

The image prompted a wave of admiration from followers, with one fan expressing surprise: "That's Pete's wife? ! " accompanied by a shocked emoji. Another admirer initially mistook Paige for Pete's girlfriend but corrected themselves and praised: "She's gorgeous."

Fans have been quick to compliment her appearance with remarks such as: "She's stunning", and a cheeky comment saying: "Nahhhh Pete is punching". The couple are proud parents to their children, Eva Sylvie and Jimmy.

Paige isn't just a knockout; she's also a crucial support for many in her job as an Emergency Service Call Handler. Meanwhile, on last night's episode (October 11), Gogglebox's Izzi Warner surprised viewers with a personal revelation about her relationship status on the programme, announcing that she was single.

Fans were unaware that Izzi, who appears alongside her sister Ellie, had parted ways with her long-term partner. Izzi had been with her boyfriend Grant for several years, having first mentioned him on social media in 2014.

They shared a home in Leeds with their two kids, Bobby and Bessie Rose. Izzi disclosed that they had split up 18 months ago and went on to describe her ideal new man on the show after Ellie prompted her to write down her 'Mary Poppins' list of perfect partner traits.

Izzi asked Ellie: "My partner who is practically perfect in every way, do you want to hear it? It's quite extensive."

"I've separated it into essentials and nice-to-haves. So on the essentials we've got: hardworking, open-minded, kind, attractive, good with money, clean criminal record, zero drugs police/no drink problem, emotional intelligence, full head of hair, patient, discreet, loyal, supports my hobbies, wants to be my plus one."

"And then nice to haves: nice teeth, nice car, generous, good style, taller than me, cooks nice dinners. So hence why I've been single for the last 18 months."
