Tamil Nadu Budget 2026 Live Updates: The maiden Budget of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led government in Tamil Nadu headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will be presented in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday (August 5, 2026). Finance Minister N. Marie Wilson will present the State Budget for 2026-27 at 10 a.m. in the Assembly.

Meanwhile, leaders of political parties in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday condemned the arrest of former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in connection with a case pertaining to his alleged remark insulting the modesty of a woman. “The Assembly session, during which the State Budget is to be presented, begins on August 5. The government did not want the Leader of the Opposition, who enjoys a Cabinet rank, to be present in the House,” said DMK president MK Stalin.
