Ziff Davis Buys Home Titles Dwell, Domino and Business of Home

Home and interior publications Dwell, Domino and Business of Home were sold by Recurrent Ventures to Ziff Davis, the digital media company that includes CNET, Mashable and TheSkimm.

The news was reported by Business of Home on Friday. Business of Home was founded in 2009 and delivers news, analysis and insights to interior designers and industry. Dwell was founded in 2000 and focuses on modern architecture and interiors, while Domino, a lifestyle and home magazine, was founded by Condé Nast in 2005. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Business of Home, also known as BOH, said the three titles will form the basis of a lifestyle group within Ziff Davis, a digital media and internet company whose portfolio includes leading brands in technology, shopping, gaming and entertainment, health and wellness, connectivity and more.

The trio of brands will be led by Business of Home founder Julia Noran Johnston.

As we build out this new group, our goal is to remain the definitive leaders in the home category, focusing as always on high-authority reporting, a clear point of view, and a deep commitment to the readers we serve.”

Ziff Davis was founded as a publishing company in 1927. The company saw its revenues rise 6 percent to $1.5 billion in 2025.
