This summer, Nike introduced a new furry take on the Air Force 1 Low with loose inspiration from “The Wizard of Oz” and a debut orange colorway that made comparisons to Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty impossible to avoid. Another version in purple is expected to release during the holiday season, but as the wait for more information remains ongoing, yet another variant has surfaced.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Team Red Pony Hair” employs its namesake dark hue across the sneaker without an exception. Pony hair of greater length than usual likewise covers the entirety of the upper, from the base to overlays including Swoosh and mustache. Leather lining brings a more premium interior, with the material used for a tongue patch stitched onto the furry tongue.

One question left, though, is just how many colors this horse of a sneaker will carry.
As pony hair has become more broadly popular in sneakers, particularly with animal prints, Nike has also outfitted other versions of the Air Force 1 Low with a neater length of the material. Yet another makeup recently went somewhat in the middle for length with a rat-inspired look convincing enough to unsettle.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Team Red Pony Hair” has yet to be confirmed with a release date, but will drop during the holiday season just like its purple counterpart. Pricing is set at $140.
