A Stirling chippie is preparing to cook up funds for a local domestic abuse charity.

Vincenzo’s Fish and Chips in the city’s Cowane Street will be running a special reduced price menu with proceeds going to Stirling and District Women’s Aid on Monday and Tuesday (October 7-8).

Prices include a haddock supper for £3.70 and a regular chips for just £1, steak pie supper for £2.60 or a single steak pie for £1.60 and a quarter chicken supper for £3.50 - with more special prizes available on other items on the menu. Orders will be taken in store only.

The idea first came about due to another fundraising event taking place - a raffle run by Kyle Servera (Central Scotland Takeaway review). Vincenzo has already donated gift vouchers to the raffle.

SDWA will receive all proceeds of the fish and chip shop's effort, after the cost of food and Vincenzo has also told the charity he would like to host the fundraiser on a yearly basis if possible.

Vincenzo said: “I chose the association because they help the people who are closest to my heart. Women are sacred to me and children. I have six grandchildren - the eldest is three years old and the youngest is three months old.”

A spokesperson for Stirling and District Women’s Aid said: “ We are so grateful to Vincenzo and his staff for taking on the challenge of fundraising for us.

" Having the support of local businesses and the wider Stirling community is so important for us, not only in raising vital funds but in standing together to present a united front against Domestic Abuse."
