Jammu Tawi: The ongoing census operation in Jammu city has entered its final phase, with data collection completed for around 205,000 households out of an estimated 293,000, officials said on Friday.

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Divyansh Yadav, while addressing a press conference, said that more than 1,000 enumerators are currently engaged in door-to-door data collection under the ongoing exercise.

He informed that the census campaign has been underway for the past 20 days, with about 10 days remaining for completion. The collected data is being systematically uploaded as part of the process.

Appealing to residents, the Commissioner urged citizens to provide accurate and complete information to ensure effective planning and delivery of government services and welfare schemes. He also requested households that were locked during field visits to cooperate with enumerators at the earliest opportunity.

Yadav further called upon remaining households to extend full support to census teams so that no eligible beneficiary is left out of future development and welfare planning initiatives.
