DONATIONS and commercial sponsorship are still being sought to close a funding gap for the 2026 Battle of Flowers as organisers seek to “keep the magic of the Battle alive”.
Returning to Victoria Avenue after being held in the town centre last year, Battle will commence with a day parade on Friday 14 August starting at 3pm, with gates opening shortly after midday once road closures are in place.
A night parade the next day will start at 8.45pm, with gates opening shortly after 6.30pm. The latter parade will conclude with a fireworks display.
Both events will be free to enter.
Battle chair Martyn Maguire told the JEP in September that organisers wanted to maintain the “accessibility” of the annual spectacle, stating at the time that “we would like it to remain free forever”.
Yesterday’s announcement revealed that, while the Battle team had been been successful in raising grants and commercial sponsorship for the “vast majority” of the expenses needed for this year’s parades, efforts were still being made to “close the last gap in our funding shortfall”.
Organisers also emphasised that “continued commercial and public support are essential to ensure the long-term future of the event”.
Donations can be made online at battle.je/donate, or during the parades using sum-up machines which will be at various points around the arena, or via QR codes displayed on hi-vis tabards worn by marshals and parade co-ordinators.
Mr Maguire said: “We are incredibly grateful to the community, volunteers, and sponsors who continue to support the Battle of Flowers.
“The creativity and dedication behind every float is truly inspiring, and we are proud to see the parade return to its iconic home.”
Mr Maguire added that the event “belongs to the Island” and that “we need everyone’s support to keep the magic of the Battle alive for future generations.”
