Netflix's DEAD-END JOB Trailer Turns a High-Paying Side Hustle Into a Supernatural Nightmare

Getting paid 50 times the normal wage sounds like a pretty sweet deal, until you find out your new job might actually kill you. Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming Korean supernatural thriller series Dead-End Job, and it looks like a wild mix of workplace horror, dark comedy, and some seriously twisted survival scenarios.

The story follows Byeon Hyeok-jun (Lee Jae-wook), a debt-ridden man in his 30s who's desperate to get his finances under control. When he discovers a mysterious employment agency offering ridiculously high-paying part-time jobs, he figures he's finally caught a break. Unfortunately, the money comes with some horrifying strings attached.

As Hyeok-jun puts it, "I'm more scared of being broke than I am of ghosts." That's a pretty terrible attitude to have when your new workplace is crawling with supernatural horrors.

The trailer gives off some serious Squid Game vibes, only instead of competing in deadly children's games, our unlucky hero is taking on bizarre jobs that turn into terrifying encounters. Each episode looks to throw him into another insane situation where earning a paycheck means surviving whatever nightmare his employers have cooked up.

The series also features Go Min-si, Kim Min-ha, Lee Hee-joon, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Hyun-wook, with an appearance by Ko Chang-seok.

The show was created by Han Jun-hee, who also co-directs alongside Kim Da-min. The scripts come from Kyung Min-sun and Lee Shin-ji, with Kyung previously working on the Korean series Tarot. The show was made by Shotcake and produced by Yum Eun-ha.

Dead-End Job also made its initial premiere at the 2026 Busan Film Festival before heading to Netflix.

I like the idea of taking the everyday misery of trying to make enough money to survive and turning it into an actual supernatural nightmare. The combination of shady employers, absurdly high wages, and increasingly dangerous assignments could make for a fun horror series, especially if it leans into its dark comedy.

Netflix will release Dead-End Job globally on October 30, 2026, just in time for Halloween.
