The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has described that he is a billionaire in naira.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, dismissed claims that he is a billionaire in United States, US, dollars.

He spoke while responding to questions on ‘Keeping It Real with Adeola Fayehun’ podcast in the US.

The NDC presidential candidate explained that US dollars is the standard used to measure billionaires.

But, according to Obi, he has a billionaire status when his wealth is measured in naira.

Obi said: “You know they calculate billionaire in dollars. In naira, yes I am (a billionaire) in naira but not in dollars.

“You know dollars is what they use to measure. Dollars is what they use to measure billionaire, it’s always in dollars but in naira, yes I am. Capital yes.”

Obi is currently in the US for his presidential campaign engagements.
