LaLiga: Rodri reveals conversation with Mourinho before he snubbed Real Madrid

Barcelona midfielder, Rodri, has confirmed he spoke a length with Real Madrid manager, José Mourinho, before he decided to join their LaLiga rivals.

In an interview with COPE, Rodri revealed that Mourinho was very keen on adding him to his Madrid squad.

Mourinho also shared his football idea with the Spain midfielder and the tactical style he will use at the Bernabeu.

Ultimately, Rodri joined Barcelona from Manchester City in a £65.4 million deal.

“Real Madrid tried strongly. José Mourinho shared with me his enthusiasm to get me, his football idea… it attracted me a lot, he’s a top coach,” Rodri said.

“Then I decided to join Barça and not Madrid due to a sporting decision, here I can grow way more.”
