‘I left enough money to clear Anambra debts if any’ – Peter Obi replies Soludo

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, says he left enough money in the coffers of Anambra State to clear any outstanding debt.

Obi made this disclosure on Thursday while responding to questions in an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time.

He was responding to the administration of Chukwuma Soludo, which alleged that he took out several loans while he was governor of the state.

Recall that the state government had said it was still repaying loans taken by previous administrations, including those of Peter Obi and Willie Obiano.

Speaking during the interview, Obi said, “Assuming your father left you N100 million and someone says he owed N10 million, will you go to the market and say he left you with debt? That would be unfair.

“Even if there was a debt, there was enough left to pay it, and the state (Anambra) would still be financially stable.”
