Katsina governor signs N828.58bn 2027 appropriation bill into law

Katsina State governor, Dikko Radda has signed the 2027 Appropriation Bill of N828.58 billion into law.

Radda signed the budget on Wednesday, making Katsina the first state in Nigeria to sign its 2027 Appropriation Bill into law, according to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Nasir Daura.

The budget provides N190.73 billion for recurrent expenditure and N637.85 billion for capital projects.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Radda said the budget was developed based on needs assessments conducted across 361 wards in the state’s 34 local government areas.

He said the proposal underwent three stages of scrutiny, including grassroots consultations, reviews by ministries and agencies, and legislative consideration before its passage.

Radda commended the State House of Assembly for the early passage of the bill, noting that the 2027 budget was signed on September 30, compared with November 17, when the 2026 budget was signed.

He urged ministries, departments and agencies to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the budget.
