Man (60s) arrested following death of man at house in north Dublin

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an incident at a house in north Dublin. 

Shortly after 12.30am this morning, gardaí and emergency services responded to a call at a residence on Brookwood Heights, Artane.

A man in his 30s was treated at the scene before he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at a Dublin garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The body of the deceased remains at the residence, which is preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

The local coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed, a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) assigned and an incident room established at Clontarf garda station.

The deceased will be removed in due course for post-mortem examination, which will assist Gardaí in determining the course of the investigation.
