Man in his 40s charged in connection with arson attack on Islamic prayer hall in Dublin

A MAN WHO was arrested in connection with an alleged arson attack on a mosque in Dublin has been charged. 

Gardaí said they are continuing to investigate the incident, which occurred at around 3.30pm on Monday.

The man, aged in his 40s, is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday morning.

The fire was met with a significant emergency response that included four fire engines and over 20 first responders. It took some hours to extinguish it. 

The building was evacuated and there were no injuries. A coffee shop next door was also damaged by the fire.
