Government gears up to reveal details of Budget 2027

AN INCREASE TO the Help to Buy tax rebate, a small boost to the State pension and a raise in the entry point to the higher rate of tax are all on the cards today as the government announces Budget 2027.

On this rainy budget day, Minister for Finance Simon Harris is set to speak in the Dáil at 1pm to confirm the details of the government’s spending plans for the next year.

The Journal has already reported extensively on what we understand to be in store in this budget.

As the day plays out, Harris and Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers will tell the Dáil what the government has agreed, opposition members will rise to say what they would have done differently, and beyond Leinster House, campaign groups will be speaking up to commend or criticise.
