Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition adds a weekly challenge mode
by Stefan L · tsaPikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been revealed, enhancing the latest entry in the adorable strategy series for the new console on 12th November.
In addition to improved resolution and frame rate compared to the original Switch release, Pikmin 4 will also tap into the Switch 2’s microphone, allowing you to give your space pup, Oatchi, orders. You can also give him praise for being a good boy and doing a good job, because he deserves it.
Want to test your strategic mettle, though? The new Dandari Academy mode will add 72 challenge levels over time, tasking you with gathering all the objects as quickly as possible, for example. This game mode will only be available from Friday through Sunday, and you have just a single attempt to set your final best effort, though you’ll be able to plan and practice before you go.
The announcement comes a little after Pikmin 3 Deluxe was given a free update for Switch 2, helping to boost and round out the full series for the latest hardware. This will be a paid upgrade for Pikmin 4, but with the added game mode as a sweetener.
