Fortnitemares 2026 spends Five Nights at Freddy Krueger’s

It might be a lovely sunny day out, but did you know it’s actually also quite spooky out there? Epic Games has unveiled what terrors await in Fortnitemares 2026, and it’s a whole lot of Freddy.

That’s right, there’s both the much requested Five Nights at Freddy’s collab for Fortnite, for all your horror mascot fans out there, as well as Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and they’re throwing in Hazbin Hotel, Obsession and more into the mix as well.

This is all reflected within the game’s modes, across Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload. Overrides give gameplay quirks that can let you cloak while sprinting, dish out more damage as your own health drops, disguise yourself as a Halloween prop, and more.

There’s also a new weapon with the Bonerattler SMG, which can see enemies through walls – which is surely going to be a bit rage-inducing – and if you find and defeat Freddy (Krueger) in the Nightmare Neighbourhood, you can claim Freddy’s Nightmare ability, to teleport around and slash through opponents like a spooky nightmare predator that he is.

Starting on 8th October, Horde Rush returns with this ‘nitemare’ theme, while Fortnite Reload will revisit Nitemare Island, Stranger Things, and Squid Grounds.

And, of course, there’s all of this as cosmetics. The outfits from Five Nights at Freddy’s are live in the shop now, and can show battle damage. Those from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Black Clover, Hollow Knight, 99 Nights in the Forest, Hazbin Hotel, The Purge, Obsession, Slender Man, Beetlejuice, Predator: Badlands, and Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights will then follow throughout October.
