Trainee IAS officers visit Visakhapatnam Port Authority

A group of IAS officer trainees visited Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on Saturday as part of their winter study tour. During the official interactive sessions with them, the VPA authorities explained about the Port’s infrastructure facilities and cargo handling capacity, modernisation and mechanisation initiatives, covered storage, solar power plant and sustainable water treatment using STP for industrial purposes, investment potential in the region, newly developed International Cruise Terminal and Truck Parking Terminal, and opportunities for enhancing import and export operations through the VPA, according to a release here.
