Nick Knowles admits Strictly Come Dancing future is uncertain as he shares major update

After injuring his arm, Nick Knowles' Strictly stint has been left in the balance and in a new update shared this Tuesday, the comedian has tried to reassure his fans.

Nick Knowles has admitted he is still unsure whether he will be able to dance this Saturday.

Following his debut in Strictly Come Dancing last week, the DIY SOS star, 62, revealed on Instagram he had injured his arm while changing a tyre after some car trouble on a motorway. His participation in the BBC One competition has since been left hanging in the balance.

This Tuesday, September 24, Nick Knowles took to Instagram to give his 308k followers on the social media platform as he shared a new selfie, appearing with his arm still resting in a sling.

The comedian wrote in his caption: "Today I have seen Dr’s and Physio’s who have been wonderful. I’ve had scans (I’ll spare you the grim details) and although it’s feeling a bit better today, the issue is, we don’t know if I can actually use my arm to dance."

He then added: "So tomorrow, I’m going to rehearsals with Luba Mushtuk and the physio to see just what my arm can do. Then the medics will make a call on if they think I can continue dancing. I am still really hopeful that I’ll be able to dance this weekend. So fingers crossed…"

Many Strictly fans took to the comment section as they were concerned for his stint in the long-running programme, which has been hit with bullying allegations ahead of its anniversary season. "Such a shame because if you do dance then you won’t have had the same time and practice as the other contestants so it’s not fair on you bless you. Can only do your best", one Instagram user wrote.

Another added: "I’m sure the rule is one week out for injury, so that could help", while a third continued: "Ohhh let’s hope your arm gets better - please keep dancing."

This comes after a chat with Janette Manrara with his professional partner Luba Mushtuk on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, Nick said he would "find out more tomorrow" about his condition, though he is "hopeful" and hasn't closed the door to the possibility of dancing this Saturday.

He first explained he celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a party. The fateful incident leading to questions around his Strictly stint took place when he broke down while trying to bring his 10-year-old son to the festivities.

"It was raining and there were big lorries going past. So I tried to do it quickly", he remembered. "And as I took the tyre off, I basically damaged my bicep and damaged my arm." To top it all off, Nick missed his own party due to the incident.

But after thanking the two police officers who helped him at the time, Nick had to give an update on his Strictly stint and he took a defying stance. "I'm hopeful", he said. "I'll find out more tomorrow but I'm fully expecting to go into training and I'm really hopeful I'll be dancing on Saturday." Luba, on the other hand, said she would "work around it."
