Microsoft (MSFT) reports Q3 2026 Xbox content and services revenue decreased 5% year-over-year
The dip in revenue was the sole mention of Xbox throughout the entire Q3 2026 earnings release.
by TJ Denzer · ShacknewsWith Microsoft having put out its Q3 2026 earnings results, we also got a look at the company’s latest stats on Xbox and its products, content, and services, or more accurately lack thereof. Xbox content and services revenue decreased five percent year-over-year.
Microsoft’s Q3 2026 earnings results were posted on its investor relations website. There, it reported the 5% down metric YoY in revenue. What is perhaps a little more disheartening for investors interested in that corner of the business is that it’s the only mention of Xbox on the entire release.

Xbox has been going through a tumultuous time over the course of this year, with the resignation of former Xbox boss Phil Spencer and the sudden exit of President Sarah Bond. Asha Sharma has taken up the role of Xbox CEO and promises a bright new era of Xbox gaming. Meanwhile, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has claimed the Xbox brand “lifts the whole company,” even as the company laid off over 9,000 employees throughout 2025.
