Nintendo (NTDOY) increases Switch 2 prices starting September 1, 2026

Nintendo has bumped the price of both the Nintendo Switch 2 console and the Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Nintendo (NTDOY) reported its Fiscal Year 2026 earnings, and one of the biggest stories to come from this report is a planned price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 console. 

The Nintendo Switch 2 console will increase in price from $449.99 USD to $499.99 USD. In Canada, the console will increase in price from $629.99 to $679.99. In Europe, the Switch 2 price will bump from €469.99 to €499.99. This is the first price hike the Nintendo Switch 2 has received since its release in 2025 and is expected to take effect in the United State, Canada, and Europe on starting on September 1, 2026. The price increase will also hit Japan starting on May 25, 2026, when the unit will bump up from ¥49,980 to ¥59,980.

Nintendo apologized to customers and stakeholders stating, “We sincerely apologize for the impact these price revisions may have on our customers and other stakeholders, and we deeply appreciate your understanding.” You can read the full details of the price increases from their corporate website.
