Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen have sold more than 4 million units

Back in February, Nintendo ported Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen to the Nintendo Switch. Priced at $19.99 each, this marked the first time that these games were playable on modern Nintendo hardware. Less than two months later, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen have sold more than four million units on Switch.

Nintendo announced the sales numbers for the Pokemon games in its latest earnings report. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen were released digitally on Pokemon Day for the Nintendo Switch family of systems.

Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen are remakes of the original Pokemon games, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green. They were released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004 as part of the third generation of Pokemon games. The Switch versions of these games are compatible with Pokemon Home, the service that lets players store Pokemon and transfer them between games.
