by Sam Chandler · ShacknewsThe Nintendo Switch 2 remains a top-selling console, with almost four million units being sold during Nintendo’s first quarter fiscal year 2027.
Nintendo (NTDOY) reported its Q1 FY27 earnings on August 6, 2026. According to the report, the Nintendo Switch 2 sold 3.82 million units during the company’s first reporting quarter for its 2027 fiscal year. This brings the total number of Switch 2 consoles sold since launch to 23.68 million.
While the number of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles sold continues to grow, the Q1 FY27 results are 34 percent lower than the Q1 FY26 results, which saw 5.82 million units moved. However, this is an increase compared to Q4 FY26’s 2.49 million units sold. Nintendo writes, “Many consumers continued to adopt the system, encouraged by the release of new titles and other factors.”
Nintendo does note that the hardware sell-through of the Nintendo Switch 2 exceeds that of the Nintendo Switch during its initial adoption. The earnings report also makes mention of the Japanese price revision, which despite this, the hardware sell-through “remained solid.”
