Proficiency is the number in the lower-left corner of your screen in Saros. Collect Lucenite to increase your Proficiency number. The higher your Proficiency, the higher the weapon levels that drop from containers. A weapon with a higher level will deal more damage, have more Traits, and have increased stats.

In order to get better weapons which deal more damage, you should focus a lot of your efforts on collecting every single bit of Lucenite you see. If you kill an enemy, safely rotate to where it died to scoop up the resource before it all disappeares.

It might also be worth saving chests until you increase your Proficiency and then backtracking to open them up. This is really only useful if you’re able easy defeat enemies as you push forward.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the skill tree offers traits that increase your starting Proficiency level. Early on, it’s easy to get your Proficiency to start at Level 5, which gives you a bit of an early-cycle boost to your drops.

In Saros, Proficiency dictates the level of weapons that drop for you. Because this is your only way to gain meaningful power during a cycle, you should focus on collecting as much Lucenite as possible. Stop by our Saros page for more help with this tough shooter.
