KPDN Miri inspects outlet after allegations of misleading price representations
by jenifer laeng · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (March 23): The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Miri branch has conducted an inspection at a fast-food outlet here following allegations of misleading price representations involving goods or services.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Saturday (March 21), KPDN Miri said the inspection was carried out after a public complaint related to the matter went viral on social media.
“As a result, enforcement action under Section 12(1)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act 1999 was taken against a premises located at Marina Parkcity,” it said.
The department reminded all traders to strictly adhere to existing regulations and to conduct their businesses in an ethical and transparent manner.
It also called on the public to cooperate with enforcement authorities by acting as the eyes and ears of the department, and to report any information or complaints related to unethical business practices through the appropriate channels.
