KTS Group offers career opportunities for auxiliary police officers

KUCHING (Oct 5): KTS Group of Companies’ (KTS Group) career programme has not only provided employment opportunities for young adults but has also opened its door to those who are keen to be employed as auxiliary police (AP) officers.

AP Superintendent Kuek Han Juay, who has dedicated 20 years of service to the KTS Group, said the organisation’s in-house training is conducted in a professional, systematic way to equip the officers with the necessary skills in maintaining safety and order, as well as in crime prevention and community policing initiatives.

“We encourage young people to join us as this career opportunity is very promising. Anyone fresh from school, young, energetic, and has a clean record can walk in and apply.

“Once selected, the candidates will undergo our in-house training,” said Kuek, adding that it is also part of the KTS Group’s initiatives to provide jobs to the youngsters.

“Applicants need to present their relevant academic certificates and proceed to the security counter located on the ground floor of Crown Towers here to submit their applications,” he said when met after the graduation ceremony of nine AP officers at the Kuching Police Training Centre (Pulapol), Jalan Borneo Heights, here yesterday.

Among the newly installed officers was Zurina Emi, 37, who was promoted from the rank of constable to inspector upon graduation.

Zurina, who has been with KTS since 2015, encourages young people to consider taking up the auxiliary police job for experience and as a stepping stone to a career with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Alexander Mojen, 33, a constable with the KTS Group since 2012, also shared his experience during the course, noting the numerous benefits he had gained.

“I used to wake up at my own leisure time but during our course of training here, we were trained to adhere to our time schedule and were pushed to perform, hence the motivation for me not to fall behind the other participants,” he said.
