BINTULU (Sept 23): RAW Energy’s pellet manufacturing company, RAW Solid Fuels, welcomed Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to its facility in Bintulu today.

As a strong advocate for sustainable green energy, the Premier expressed his excitement and pride in Sarawak becoming home to the world’s first large-scale grass biomass pellet manufacturer and exporter.

RAW Solid Fuels is revolutionising the biomass industry by setting a new benchmark in sustainable biomass with its innovative Hybrid Tropical Grass (HTG) pellets, a renewable and carbon-negative alternative to traditional coal and wood pellets for sustainable energy production.

The company in a statement said these HTG pellets offer the highest yield and most efficient carbon cycle in biomass with over ten times the land-use efficiency of wood-based alternatives, making them a game-changer in clean energy production.

With a carbon cycle measured in days rather than decades, along with 15 per cent more energy content, RAW Energy’s HTG biomass pellets represent the future of sustainable green energy.

The advanced farming and production methodologies employed by RAW Energy ensure that these HTG biomass pellets can be directly used as a feedstock for power stations to generate clean green energy.

This innovation will help countries worldwide to decarbonise and achieve their net zero targets.

“RAW Energy is committed to accelerating the clean energy transition while driving economic development and improving global wellbeing.

“We are excited to pioneer and revolutionise this new era of power generation, offering a truly scalable and sustainable solution that helps our customers reduce their carbon footprint, while at the same time delivering social and economic benefits to left-behind communities,” said RAW Energy group chief executive officer Ramsay Wilson.

RAW Energy is a leading provider of carbon-negative sustainable fuels and is the parent company of RAW Solid Fuels, RAW Biofuels, and RAW Power.
