by Eric Edward · Borneo Post OnlineMIRI (Nov 16): The Green Summit Development Group (GSD) marked its 15th anniversary with an appreciation dinner at a local hotel here on Friday night, celebrating a journey of growth, innovation and community contributions.
The event was attended by group managing director Khor Ooi Long, staff and senior officers and saw notable guests including Miri Mayor Adam Yii and Deputy Mayor Ariffin Mohamad in attendance.
In his welcoming address, GSD chief executive officer and founder James Hii highlighted the significance of the milestone, describing it as 15 years of bloom and rising momentum.
He also highlighted the company’s ongoing and future projects, which include a RM180 million government complex in Lawas set for completion in August 2025, a RM50 million housing contract in Bintulu in partnership with a longstanding stakeholder and a 50-acre mixed-use development in Taman Tunku, Miri.
Additionally, GSD is collaborating with the Sarawak Housing Development Corporation and various government-linked companies (GLCs) on landbank developments across Sarawak, including in Miri, Limbang, Bintulu and Kuching.
He added that a 200-unit housing scheme in Kuching is nearing completion, of which the company plans for more than 2,000 additional units to be developed, while in Miri, the Nexus Business Park will be the first guarded concept commercial centre.
“The future of GSD is full of opportunities, though not without its challenges,” Hii stated, reaffirming the company’s determination to continue thriving in a competitive landscape.
As part of its anniversary celebration, GSD demonstrated its commitment to community welfare through several impactful donations.
The company contributed RM50,000 each to Riam Road Secondary School and Pei Min Middle School in Miri, aimed at providing better education facilities to these schools.
Additionally, GSD handed over five Automated External Defibrillator (AED) devices to the Miri City Council. These devices will be strategically placed across the city to improve emergency response and potentially save lives.
