Black Contractors Association to Host Community Event Saturday at Boutwell

The Black Contractors Association–Alabama Chapter (BCAAC) invites the community to its third annual We Are One All-White Celebration on Saturday, September 26, at Boutwell Auditorium. The evening begins at 8 p.m., bringing people together for live entertainment, food and a celebration of community. Guests are encouraged to wear their finest white attire.

Behind the celebration is a clear purpose.

“Our primary mission is advocacy,” said BCAAC President Jarrod Sims. “Black construction professionals need a dedicated voice working on their behalf. That’s the role we fill.”

BCAAC represents professionals across the construction industry, from contractors and tradespeople to architects, engineers and businesses that support their work. The organization advocates for access, inclusion and opportunities for Black businesses to participate and grow, while supporting its members and the communities they serve.

“Training and support services are important, but businesses also need someone speaking up for them and helping open doors,” Sims said. “September 26 is an opportunity to celebrate together, learn about our work and become part of it. We’re excited, and we want you in the building.”
