HBO Max Cuts One-Year Subscription Prices 28% in Limited-Time Offer Ahead of ‘House of Dragon’ Season 3 — and Before Paramount Merger

Starting Thursday (June 18), new and returning HBO Max subscribers in the U.S. can save an additional 28% off the one-year pricing on Basic With Ads, Standard or Premium plans.
The special discounted yearly pricing is $78.99 for the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan; $132.99 for the Standard plan; and $164.99 for the Premium plan. After the 12-month period, those rates will go back to the standard prices (which are currently $109.99, $184.99 and $229.99 per year plus applicable taxes, respectively).

With the additional 28% discount, the special one-year promo rates represent a 40% savings compared with the regular monthly price points. The limited-time offer is available from June 18 through July 15, 2026, for eligible subscribers on HBOMax.com, Amazon’s Prime Video Subscriptions and the Roku Channel.
Eligible subscribers can take advantage of the special pricing ahead of the Season 3 premiere of HBO original drama series “House of the Dragon,” debuting Sunday, June 21.
Meanwhile, HBO Max is running the one-year price discount as Paramount Skydance’s deal to merge with WBD is pending. Paramount execs have said they expect to merge HBO Max and Paramount+ in some way once the merger closes, but they haven’t provided details about what that will mean for customers. The companies have said they expect the deal to close in September 2026, pending regulatory approvals and legal clearance.
HBO Max is the streaming home of HBO originals plus movies from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Turner Classic Movies, A24 and Studio Ghibli; programming from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Magnolia Network, Discovery and TCM; and more.
HBO Max’s upcoming lineup includes originals such as “Lanterns” and “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe,” documentaries including “Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That’s the Weight of the World)” and “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks,” as well as fan-favorite library titles like “Friends” and “The Big Bang Theory.” The streaming service features critically acclaimed films, including Oscar winners “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners,” alongside franchises such as “It,” “The Conjuring” and “Final Destination.”
