Ray-Ban Meta’s Gen 2 Wayfarers in Shiny Black with green lenses are down to $359.99 at Amazon, from $379. That’s $19.01 off, or about 5%, on the camera glasses. It’s a small cut on the classic square frame, and it only applies to the Shiny Black/Green configuration.

Two other Gen 2 styles sell at full price on Amazon right now: the cat-eye Skyler at $379 and the rounded Headliner with polarized gradient lenses at $409. All three share the same camera, open-ear audio and Meta AI features, so the choice comes down to frame shape and lenses.

Three Gen 2 frame options

Wayfarer: the discounted square frame

The Wayfarer pairs a square front with a glossy black finish and G-15 green lenses. These are standard sun lenses, not Transitions, and it’s the cheapest of the three today.

The 12-megapixel camera shoots photos and up to 3K video at 30 frames per second without a phone in your hand. Two open-ear speakers handle audio, and a five-microphone array picks up calls and voice commands.

Skyler: a cat-eye alternative

Price: $379
Where to buy: Amazon

The Skyler sweeps the upper corners into a cat-eye shape. The Shiny Black version uses the same green lenses as the discounted Wayfarer, so the extra $19.01 buys a different frame shape, not a better camera.

It’s a smaller frame, with 52mm lenses and a 20mm bridge.

Headliner: polarized lenses and a matte finish

Price: $409
Where to buy: Amazon

The Headliner has a rounded phantos frame in matte black. Its polarized gradient graphite lenses set this $409 configuration apart from the two solid-green options, and polarization cuts glare off water, glass and car hoods.

It costs $49.01 more than the discounted Wayfarer. If you’re outside a lot, the polarized lenses are the upgrade worth paying for.

What you need to use them

Gen 2 battery life is up to eight hours of typical use, and the charging case adds up to 48 more. The box includes the glasses and the charging case but no charging cable. You’ll need a compatible Android or iOS phone, Wi-Fi, a Meta account and the Meta AI app. The glasses are for ages 13 and up, and some AI features are limited by country and language.

The Shiny Black/Green Wayfarer at $359.99 is the one to buy. It’s the cheapest Gen 2 here, with the same camera, speakers and Meta AI as the other two. Pay $409 for the Headliner only if you spend a lot of time outside and want polarized lenses. The sale price covers only the Shiny Black/Green configuration; other lenses cost more.
