Mets acquire outfielder Jose Siri in trade with Rays

· New York Post

With the Mets hoping to bolster their outfield with superstar free agent Juan Soto this offseason, they’ve hit the trade market to add a new center field option.

The Mets acquired Jose Siri from the Rays on Tuesday for right-hander Eric Orze, The Post’s Mike Puma confirmed.

Siri, 29, is a strong defensive center fielder and figures to replace Harrison Bader in a center-field pairing with Tyrone Taylor.

In 2023, Siri hit 25 home runs with 56 RBIs, a .222 average and .761 OPS in 364 plate appearances.
