MyNextMattress donates new mattresses to support local families this winter

by · Wales Online

A UK mattress retailer has made a timely donation to help people facing hardship, providing comfort, dignity and a better night’s sleep to those most in need this winter.

MyNextMattress, a UK-based specialist mattress retailer, has donated 24 brand-new Emma mattresses to Charity Link, a Leicester-based charity that supports local people experiencing financial hardship.

The mattresses will be distributed to individuals and families across Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire, helping to ensure access to a safe and comfortable place to sleep during the Christmas period and beyond.

Each mattress is brand new, hygienically packaged and designed to fit standard UK bed frames, allowing for immediate use once delivered.

By working closely with Charity Link, the donation will be prioritised for households most in need and distributed quickly to those facing the greatest challenges.

Meaningful local impact

The donation reflects MyNextMattress’s commitment to supporting local communities and recognising that quality sleep plays a vital role in overall health and wellbeing.

For many people experiencing hardship, access to basic household essentials such as a suitable mattress can be limited, with long-term consequences for physical and mental health.

Simon Johnson of MyNextMattress said the company was proud to support Charity Link’s work in the region.

He explained: “A good night’s sleep is essential, not a luxury.

“By donating mattresses, we hope to offer comfort, dignity and a fresh start to individuals and families across Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire.”

Charity Link welcomes the donation

Charity Link, which helps people in crisis to access essential items for their homes, said the donation would make a significant difference to clients during a particularly difficult time of year.

The charity highlighted that something as simple as a proper mattress is often taken for granted, yet can have a profound impact on quality of life for those without one.

In a statement, Charity Link thanked MyNextMattress for its generosity, noting that the 24 mattresses would ensure people in need have a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

The charity added that the donation directly supports its mission to help individuals and families access the essentials required for a decent standard of living, and described the gesture as a real and meaningful contribution to the local community.
