Mad Friday in Liverpool photos as city centre packed for big pre-Christmas night out

Thousands flooded through the city centre in what is set to be one of the busiest nights of the year

With Christmas now less than a week away, the countdown to the big day is officially on. In typical fashion thousands descended on Liverpool city centre last night for the final Friday before Christmas day, a day which is now more commonly referred to as 'Mad Friday'.

Earlier in the day Liverpool One was abuzz with last minute shoppers eagerly trying to complete the last of their Christmas shopping with the 25 December fast approaching.

As day turned to night, the city centre's bars and pubs were filled with customers enjoying some well-deserved festive cheer.
