Fresno piercing parlor robbed of body jewelry valued at $40k–$50k, owner says

A locally owned piercing shop in Fresno was robbed early Friday morning of jewelry pieces worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Friday morning, Monica Garcia — owner of Blood & Beauty, located near Blackstone and McKinley avenues — went on Instagram Live to share the news with the community.

She said the break-in happened around 4 a.m., and she suspected that the thief was acquainted with the shop.

“They stole a good amount of jewelry. They stole maybe $40 or $50 grand worth of jewelry,” Garcia said, specifying that the stolen pieces’ brands were Norvoch and Modern Mood.

Garcia said she wanted to spread the word so that, should anyone attempt to pawn or sell a large amount of 14-karat jewelry, they’d know it was stolen.

She said she has video footage that she’ll eventually share on social media.

Fresno police spokesperson Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega confirmed a robbery investigation is currently underway.
