She went on to form hugely successful girl group Girls Aloud, 39, with Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh.

Nicola Roberts' tough health condition

Nicola has faced some difficult times, having been diagnosed with hypoglycemia. This condition leads to sudden dips in blood sugar levels, significantly limiting dietary choices.

Nicola first became aware of the illness whilst on tour with Girls Aloud, as she began experiencing sickness and a lack of energy which impacted her stage presence. Discussing the impact of the condition, she commented: "I broke down in tears before one of our shows because I felt so weak.

"I was close to fainting, but I had no idea what was wrong with me. I just couldn't stop eating and I was always hungry."

She also spoke about how sometimes she can't even speak due to the condition. Speaking in 2020 on Twitter, she said: "I've got this thing called hypoglycemia and when my sugar is low I can't speak."

Responding to a fan question about its similarity to diabetes, Nicola clarified: "Yeah, but I don't have to take anything. I just have to control it myself."

Nicola Roberts' stalking nightmare

Nicola had a harrowing experience after being stalked by former boyfriend Carl Davies for five years. The couple split in 2008 and he was convicted in 2017, receiving a 15 month suspended sentence.

The ex-army man was also given a permanent restraining order after creating fake social media profiles to bombard the star with threatening messages.

At the time, Nicola said: "I should be able to move on from an unhealthy relationship if I want to and that has not been able to happen for me. You are too scared to take the dogs out for a walk because when someone plants vicious seeds you just imagine every possible outcome."

Nicola Roberts' home repossessed

Nicola previously revealed she had to take a big financial hit to move from a home she was not happy in. She had been struggling to sell her £1.25million mansion in Surrey for two years before her home was repossessed in 2019.

She wanted to leave the property due to the memories there of her ex, who stalked her. Nicola told The Sun back then: "I had been trying to sell the house for years, and was so unhappy there that I decided to take the hit financially in order to move on and find a new property away from the bad memories. I'm really happy in my new home now."
