Off-Strip casino resort rolls out new discounts, deals for locals

An off-Strip casino is trying to sweeten the pot for locals by rolling out an array of benefits and deals on everything from hotel stays to breakfast buffets.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on Tuesday launched Cherry Rewards Local, a new slate of perks aimed at giving Nevada residents deeper discounts on rooms, dining, gaming and poolside amenities across the property.

“Cherry Rewards Local was designed to offer residents unbeatable savings on resort amenities, enhanced gaming rewards and exclusive dining perks,” said Jim Simms, vice president of casino for Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “We look forward to welcoming both new and established local Cherry Rewards members to visit and enjoy the property every day of the week.”

The program includes up to 35 percent off room rates with no resort fees, 10 percent off spa services and $75 pool cabanas Sunday through Thursday.

On the gaming side, locals receive a 24/7 tier-based point multiplier, ranging from 2X for Insider members to 5X for All-Access members. As a bonus, rewards card members receive a scratch-off card worth up to $1,000 at sign-up or card pickup through July 19.

Dining deals are also a major part of the new locals’ program. Offers include a $9.99 weekday breakfast buffet at Kitchen, a $6.99 slice-and-drink combo at Pizza Forte, and 25 percent off at venues including Lucia Mexican Grill and Kassi Beach House. One Steakhouse is offering a $65 three-course prix fixe menu, while casino bars serve buy-one-get-one drinks 24/7 on well spirits, beer and house wine.

Parking, a major point of contention across the valley, is free for all guests. The property offers complimentary self-parking and valet, regardless of residency status.

As part of the rollout, locals will receive a redesigned Local Rewards Card available at all membership tiers. Existing Cherry Rewards members must visit the casino cage to pick up the new card and present a Nevada ID.
